Warren Conway

In the classroom, the Rhode Island native is known for encouraging student-led dialogue and challenges undergraduate students to engage in both the topical materials within the classroom, but in professional development opportunities outside the classroom.Prior to joining the Tech faculty in 2014, Conway worked as a professor of wildlife management at Stephen F. Austin State University's Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture. He received his bachelor's degree in wildlife biology and management from the University of Rhode Island. His master's and doctorate degrees in wildlife science are from Texas Tech ('97 M.S. & '01 Ph.D.).Recent honors for Conway include receiving the 2019 Champion of Women Award from the West Texas Association for Women in STEAM for his work to support and encourage women in the fields of science, technology, engineering, agriculture and mathematics. In 2017 he was presented a Professing Excellence Award from the Tech's University Student Housing office.In addition, Conway received the Teaching Excellence Award for Stephen F. Austin State University's Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture (2013); Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation Faculty Achievement Award (2009); and the Texas Tech Department of Natural Resources Management Outstanding Alumnus Award (2007).Conway is a Fellow for The Wildlife Society, and a past president of the Texas Chapter of the Wildlife Society, and remains involved in several professional organizations.
